COWS N ACCENTS??! hmmm

IF cows have ACCENTS... WHATS NEXT???

Cows 'moo' with an accent, farmers believe

LONDON (Reuters) - Cows have regional accents, a group of British farmers claims, and phonetics experts say the idea is not as far-fetched as it sounds.
Lloyd Green, from southwest England, was one of a group of farmers who first noticed the phenomenon.
"I spend a lot of time with my Friesians and they definitely 'moo' with a Somerset drawl," he said, referring to the breed of dairy cow he owns.
"I've spoken to the other farmers in the West Country group and they have noticed a similar development in their own herds.
"I think it works the same as with dogs - the closer a farmer's bond is with his animals, the easier it is for them to pick up his accent."
Dom Lane, spokesman for a group called the West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers to which Green belongs, said it contacted John Wells, Professor of Phonetics at University College London, who said that a similar phenomenon had been found in birds.
"You find distinct chirping accents in the same species around the country. This could also be true of cows," Wells said on the group's Web site (www.farmhousecheesemakers.com).
According to Lane, accents among cows probably develop in a similar way as among humans, and resulted from spending time with farmers with differing accents.
"Apparently the biggest influence on accents is peer groups - on children in the playground, for example," he said. "Herds are quite tight-knit communities and don't tend to leave the area."
He added that more scientific research was needed to prove what was just an anecdotal theory at this stage.

Let me leave ANOTHER comment now....since Tahira so doesn't wanna admit she deleted the one earlier. It went (the original comment) something like this...

Why are you so narrow minded? Allah s.w.t created everything, and since He's the almighty, isn't it even REMOTELY possible that what these farmers are saying can be true? I'm not saying that you accept it right away, but you should keep your mind/brain (or whatever else is in that head of yours) open to new discoveries/suggestions.

Shit man! "more scientific reasearch needs to be done on this?" What POSSIBLE gain can u have after knowing this useless piece of information even if it was true?
Imagine the end of this reasearch:
Scientist #1: Yaay! So we've proved that cows have accents!
Scientist #2: Yup! Hurray! Lets go Party.
Scientist #3: (pause) umm.. yeah ok.
WHAT POSSIBLE CONTRIBUTION HAVE YOU DONE FOR MANKIND?!
These kinda dumb-ass researchers need some ... i dunno wat they need man! ... kick in the butt.
Next thing we know they'll be having researches on how weather changes can change the shape of a duck's nose.

Beeno jee, ducks don't have noses!!

Well, I don't really agree with you on this one. Doesn't Islam say 'seek knowledge'? I know that MOSTLY means Islamic knowledge, but secular knowledge is also.......good to seek. If this thing is true, that cows do have accents, wouldn't it make us praise Allah? I know we should be doing that anyways, for all the countless wonders and bounties around us, but don't you think that whenever we get this 'groundbreaking news', SOME Muslims would say 'SubhanAllah', or something else praying Allah, that would come under Zikr, and thus earning them reward? Isn't that a good thing?
